Meet Wendy:
Wendy Walls is the director of business and community relations for the Technical College of the Lowcountry. In this capacity, Wendy provides innovative, creative and effective training solutions to local businesses and organizations. Formerly, the job placement coordinator for TCL in Beaufort, SC, she assisted students and alumni with career related issues and advisement. As a native of West Virginia, she worked within the West Virginia Department of Education system (K-12 and post-secondary levels) helping at-risk and first-generation college students reach their goals of higher education.
Raised in the southern coalfields of rural West Virginia, Wendy now lives on Lady’s Island and is very active with community and civic organizations such as Beaufort Rotary Club (Foundation Chair), Junior Service League of Beaufort, Leadership Beaufort- Class of 2010, TCL Arts and Sciences Advisory Committee, Lowcountry Young Professionals (Advisory Board) and recently completed the South Carolina Technical Education Association Leadership Institute Class of 2009. In addition, Wendy has been nominated for Who’s Who Among American College Educators (2008) and serves as a volunteer with Relay for Life, American Heart Association and March of Dimes.
A first-generation college graduate, Wendy obtained her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Adult and Technical Education from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, shopping and living a Lowcountry lifestyle.
