Phlebotomy

Students will learn to follow universal precautions, tie tourniquets, identify veins, and demonstrate knowledge and use of necessary equipment necessary for drawing blood. Students will be able to identify appropriate tubes and labels for tests, prep the site, perform venipunctures and finger sticks, and administer bedside glucose. The student is not certified after this course but is qualified to be a phlebotomist in the state of SC. To be eligible for certification exam, please go to ASPT.org for requirements.


Tuition $725, book, SLED check, gloves and immunizations are extra

Prior to paying tuition, students must:

  •  Make an appointment to meet with Marilynn Koerber
  •  Take Workkeys Reading for Information and Locating Information required ($16 each test)  Call Jayne at 525-8205 to reserve your testing spot.
  •  Pass a Criminal Background Check ($25)
  •  Updated Immunizations and CPR required

Classes held on Monday and Thursday from 6:00pm – 9:00pm beginning 2/4/13 – 4/4/13.
