TCL business, industrial programs to hold open house
The Technical College of the Lowcountry will hold a business and industrial technologies open house from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 15 in building 14 at the TCL Beaufort Campus, 921 Ribaut Road.
Prospective students and any interested parents are encouraged to attend. TCL’s expert faculty will be on hand to answer questions about their programs. In addition, visitors will be able to tour TCL’s high-tech business and industrial labs.
TCL’s business programs include administrative office technology; computer technology; criminal justice technology; general business and accounting; hospitality management; culinary arts and paralegal.
The industrial technology programs feature building construction; civil engineering; computer assisted design (CAD); computer networking; cosmetology; general technology; green technology; HVAC and industrial electronics.
Ken Flick, dean of business and industrial technologies, says these programs prepare students for in-demand, well-paying jobs.
“Because our students are actively engaged in hands-on learning experiences in real-world settings in and out of the classroom, they are truly prepared for the workforce when they complete their program of study.” he said. “Plus TCL’s courses and programs are carefully designed to meet the needs of area employers, which help our graduates land jobs.”
TCL is leading the way with innovative programs that incorporate “green” LEED technology and alternative energy practices.
Evening classes and fast-track certificate options offer flexibility for busy working adults.
Federal and state financial aid options are available through the TCL financial aid office. Additionally, most South Carolina residents automatically qualify for S.C. Lottery Tuition Assistance, which is not based on need or income and can pay more than half of TCL tuition.
In-state tuition is offered to residents of Chatham and Effingham Counties in Georgia as well as to military members and their spouses who are stationed in Beaufort.
