The Technical College of the Lowcountry Life Enrichment Center, designed to offer individuals opportunities to explore passions or to learn something new, will kick off three new offerings next week.

TCL will offer eBay 101 Tuesday, May 24, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at TCL’s Beaufort campus. The course will teach participants how to open, monitor and maintain eBay and PayPal accounts. For those desiring to learn more about the sales aspects of eBay and PayPal, eBay Beyond the Basics will be held Thursday, May 26, from  6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The cost to attend either course is $39 per class or participants can take advantage of a dual course registration by signing up for both classes at a discounted rate of $50 total.

Facebook for Businesses, taught by local social media expert Ian Leslie, will be held Wednesday, May 25, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at TCL’s Beaufort campus. The cost to attend this course is $79 per person. Those attending should already have a basic understanding of how to use Facebook and a Facebook account. The course will highlight best practices that businesses must use to get the most out of a Facebook presence.  The class will also emphasize how tracking a business’s presence using Facebook’s analytic tools permits the business to remain nimble in a world of equally savvy consumers.

Award-winning photographer Richard Burkhart will lead a six-week Build a Photography Portfolio course that will give participants the skills they need to edit their digital works, weed out weak images and present their photographic vision through a portfolio. The course will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursdays, May 26 through June 30 at the TCL New River Campus. Cost is $159 per person. The portfolio course focuses on creating and enhancing one’s photographic style, evaluating images for inclusion in a portfolio of work and discusses the principles associated with building a portfolio. It will include weekly photo assignments with open critique sessions. Participants are required to bring their own digital cameras and flash drives.
