Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)


Become a Certified Nursing Assistant in 6-8 weeks!

Certified Nursing Assistants perform Activities of Daily Living under the supervision of nursing staff.  Employment opportunities include positions  in skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, medical offices, assisted living facilities and home health agencies.  Students that successfully complete this state-approved course are eligible to sit for the South Carolina Nurse Aide Registry Certification exam. This course is 120 hours.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: To provide basic level of both knowledge and demonstrable skills for individuals who provide nursing or nursing related services to residents in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or nursing facility (NF). (For individuals who are not licensed health professionals or volunteers who provide services without monetary compensation.)

The tuition, textbook, and exam costs $1500.00. Our AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR class is included in the CNA course cost. There are financial aid options available through WIOA, SNAP, SCWORKS, Vocational Rehabilitation, Scholarships, and a payment plan. You will need to submit the following items in order to register for the CNA course:

  • State-issued Photo ID (such as a driver’s license)
  • WIN/R2W/WorkKeys scores/certificate – Level SILVER (4) – FREE through Adult Education
  • 2-step PPD or QuantiFERON Gold completed within 3 months of class start date (at your doctor, clinic, or hospital)
  • SLED Background check completed within 3 months of class start date (completed at TCL campus during registration interview)
  • Complete Registration forms: 2020 Allied Health Registration Packet

These items can be submitted via email to cewd@tcl.edu, fax to 855-825-3291, or in person at any TCL campus.

You will not be confirmed for ANY CNA class until we have all of the required documents. Classes are filled on a first-complete first-registered basis.
