The Technical College of the Lowcountry presents a 30 hour Introduction to Marine Systems course to prepare for entry level employment in the Marine field. Course topics include:

Career opportunities in the Marine field

Learn about career opportunities in the Marine industry including service technicians, service writers, service parts, marina operations and more.

Safety First Learn about safety in the workplace including personal protective equipment and working with flammable and hazardous materials.

Tools of the trade Gain a working knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in the field as well as shop equipment.

Marine Systems Study all major systems of boats and yachts including hull types, engines, running gear and thru hull, steering, electrical systems both AC and DC, helm electronics and navigation, plumbing, fresh and salt water systems. fuel systems, bilge systems, deck systems, propellers, zinc grounding and more.

Site Visits Participate in site visits to participating local marinas and dealerships.

30 Hours – Cost $445.00
