Welding Simulator


The Technical College of the Lowcountry, through a special appropriation from the state of South Carolina, owns and operates a unique training system using virtual reality welding on a mobile platform. The Mobile Welding Training Center houses six Lincoln Electric VRTEX® 360 advanced weld training system.

The Mobile Welding Training System is available for use to schools in Beaufort, Hampton, Jasper and Colleton counties free of charge to demonstrate advanced technology and showcase careers in welding. It is also available for use for, training, recruitment, and engagement for industry throughout South Carolina.

The VRTEX® 360 is a best-in-class, advanced level welding training system. It is designed to provide a full featured, expandable platform in an easy to use and engaging welding training tool.

      • Supports all out of position welds
      • Dedicated welding gun and retractable stinger
      • Flexible and adjustable welding stand
      • Supports tee joint, flat plate, groove joint, 6 in. diameter schedule 40 pipe, 2 in. diameter XXS pipe, and lap joint
      • VRTEX® Extensions™ software upgrade program continues to offer new and exciting features
