The Sun City Lions Club recently presented the Technical College of the Lowcountry with a gift of scholarship. Since 2006, the Club has given $25,000 to support TCL nursing scholarships. TCL’s associate degree nursing program prepares graduates to practice as registered nurses. Students experience on-campus learning using high-tech simulation equipment and receive intense additional hands-on practice at clinical sites located throughout Beaufort, Jasper, Hampton and Colleton counties. In the last five years, more than 200 students have completed the program.

The Hospital Auxiliary presents scholarship funds to TCL
Ensuring student access and opportunity is a TCL priority, a priority shared with The Hospital Auxiliary. For the 20th consecutive year, the Auxiliary gave TCL a generous donation in support of scholarships for students enrolled in TCL’s Health Sciences School.
This June the Auxiliary presented a $15,000 check to the TCL Foundation. Pictured from left to right are Stephanie Lawson, TCL Nursing Program Director, Lindsay Richardson, TCL nursing student; Dana Aiken, TCL nursing student; Jennifer Slusne, TCL nursing student; Marty Eidemiller, Auxiliary Vice President; Susan Silver, Auxiliary Scholarship Chairman. The Auxiliary is an important partner to TCL and an exemplary student advocate. Over the past twenty years the Auxiliary has given $500,000 in nursing scholarships. Because of the Auxiliary and many others, this spring term sixty TCL students received scholarship support.
