Hospital Auxiliary presents scholarship funds to TCL

Support from The Hospital Auxiliary for Hilton Head and Coastal Carolina Hospitals totals more than $350,000 over 19 years


For the 19thconsecutive year, The Hospital Auxiliary for Hilton Head and Coastal Carolina Hospitals has generously presented scholarship funds for Technical College of the Lowcountry students enrolled in health sciences programs.


The Hospital Auxiliary  presented a $15,000 check to the TCL Foundation on Thursday, June 26. Pictured from left to right are Lew Wessel, Chairman of the Annual Auxiliary Golf Tournament; Dr. Vicky Leitz, TCL Foundation Chairman; Louise Mathews, TCL Foundation Executive Director; Marty Eidemiller, Auxiliary Vice President; Dr. Richard Gough, TCL President; and Bob Powell, Auxiliary President.


Since 1995, The Hospital Auxiliary has given the TCL Foundation $358,128 to help students in the Nursing, Radiologic Technology, and Physical Therapist Assistant programs succeed.


In the last five years, TCL has graduated about 500 health care professionals, many of whom are now employed right here in the Lowcountry.


“The continued support from The Hospital Auxiliary has helped ensure success for many health sciences students who upon graduating provide quality health care to countless patients in our own communities and beyond,” Mathews said.
