The Technical College of the Lowcountry Life Enrichment Center will offer a real estate career exploration course, led by top real estate agent Cherimie Crane, Tuesday, May 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. at TCL’s New River campus. The cost is $59 per person.
The course will define the parameters of the real estate career, the educational requirements to become a real estate agent, the opportunities for investment and success as a career in a recovering economy
Crane, of Ballenger Realty, began her career in real estate by taking advantage of her summer breaks as a teacher to renovate and flip homes. She discovered quickly that her knowledge of the industry was a valuable resource, not only for local buyers, sellers and builders, but also to national real estate brands. Thus, a part-time endeavor developed into a full-time opportunity to build communities. Her success is most evident locally in the revitalization of a once stagnant property development into what is now a thriving community over the past two years, despite the challenging market dynamics.
In 2010, Crane was named the number one realtor in Beaufort County, Ballenger Realty’s top listing agent as well as Ballenger’s top selling agent.
“My role in the local market goes beyond showing and selling property,” Crane said. “I am an ambassador for living and working in our region that contributes to building the local economy, encouraging smart development, showcasing the unique Lowcountry lifestyle, and promoting responsible real estate investing.”
Crane continues her role as an educator in her now full-time profession.
According to Crane, real estate is a fast-paced and rewarding industry, where one has the luxury of setting their own hours and enabling others’ dreams to become a reality. Real estate agents are entrepreneurs. They take on business risks and are exceptionally creative.
