The Technical College of the Lowcountry Foundation will hold its 2nd Annual “Swinging for Education” Golf Tournament Friday, September 13 at Hampton Hall in Bluffton. The event, sponsored by CareCore National, will benefit Foundation student assistance. Please visit www.tcl.edu/golf for details and forms.
“Student aid is more important now than ever,” Foundation Chair Sarah Reed said. “Recent changes in federal regulations have made it more difficult for deserving students to get the assistance they need, which makes support from the Foundation even more critical.”
TCL alumnus and Foundation Board Director Derrick Coaxum agrees. “As a TCL graduate, I know how students struggle to make ends meet,” Coaxum said. “Eight out of ten TCL students need help with paying for their tuition and books. Proceeds from the golf tournament will go a long way to helping meet many students’ needs.”
Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the tournament begins at 9 a.m. sharp in a Shotgun Scramble Format for both men and women. The tournament also will feature a $10,000 Hole-in-One contest, a $50,000 Raffle Shootout Competition and other prizes. Cost is $125 per person or $460 per four-person team until September 6. Price includes a cart, gift bag, a box lunch, and the hole-in-one contest.
In addition to the Tournament Sponsor CareCore National, event sponsors include:
- Gold – 94.5 the Coast
- Silver – Palmetto Electric Cooperative, WJCL/WTGS, and WDM.
- Bronze – Atlantic Asphalt, Creative Structures, and Graybar Electric.
Sponsorships at the Platinum ($5,000), Gold ($2,500), Silver ($1,000), and Bronze ($500) levels are still available. To become a sponsor or to register, please call Institutional Advancement Executive Director Louise Mathews at 843.470.5962 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
