BEAUFORT, S.C. – The Technical College of the Lowcountry will host a free financial aid workshop for college-bound students Saturday, February 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the MacLean Hall Student Center at the Beaufort Campus on 921 Ribaut Road. Click here for the attached PDF flyer.
The “College Goal South Carolina” workshop is designed to help any and all college-bound students – not just those planning to attend TCL – and their families with the financial aid application process and will provide assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is the first step to receiving federal aid at college, and it is a requirement for most college students who plan to pay for college with the help of grants, work study funds, student loans and scholarships.
In addition, students will be provided information on state scholarship programs as well as information about the state’s two- and four-year higher education institutions.
Participants should plan to bring the following:
· Student’s 2012 state and federal tax returns
· Parents’ 2012 state and federal tax returns
· Social Security Number
· Driver’s License or other official ID
· Verification of untaxed income (Social Security, TANF, veteran’s benefits, etc.)
· Alien registration number (if an eligible noncitizen)
The Technical College of the Lowcountry is committed to a policy of equal opportunity for all qualified applicants for admissions or employment without regard to race, gender, national origin, age, religion, marital status, veteran status, disability, or political affiliation or belief.
