TCL to offer holiday floral arranging class in Hampton

The Technical College of the Lowcountry Continuing Education Division will offer “Floral Arranging for the Holidays” from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesdays, October 10 through November 28 (no class on October 31 or November 21) at the TCL Hampton Campus. Cost is $99, plus an additional $20 paid to the instructor for supplies.


No matter the budget, students will be able to master decorating their homes from top to bottom for the holidays. Students will learn to make wreaths and swags for the door, mantle or windowsills. Students will use fresh and silk materials, ribbon and other materials. Students will also learn to tie a velvet bow and make other bows for packages and tree decorations. Tablescapes will be taught using ornaments and ribbons. Students will leave this class with finished designs ready for use in their own homes or to give as a gift.


Students should bring the following materials to class:

  • 1 pair scissors
  • Christmas ornaments of choice
  • 1 grapevine wreath
  • 1 holiday mixed bush (poinsettias or holly)
  • $20 to pay instructor for additional materials
  • An apron to protect clothes
