The Technical College of the Lowcountry Division of Continuing Education will offer several classes in February and March on social media, e-books and eBay.
This course will teach students how to use the major new tools in social media with a focus on best and most efficient use. Students will learn how to use social media to reach both personal and professional goals. Upon completion of this course, students will have a strong grasp of new tools in social media and be able to leverage those tools to advance their goals.
- Learn how to use media tools to attract more visitors
- Learn about the different social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, BlogSpot, etc.)
- Create, optimize and promote personal or business profiles
- Create a basic web page
- Learn how to use social media to expand your personal and professional network
The class will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursdays, February 9 and 16at the New River Campus. Another class will run from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursdays, March 22 and 29 at the New River Campus. Cost is $49.

“Whether you’re writing for family, clients, or the general public, your work can be noticed and distributed online around the world,” says Stephanie Edwards, local author and instructor with the Technical College of the Lowcountry division of continuing education.
Edwards will teach “Making Money with E-Books” Saturday, February 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at TCL’s Beaufort campus. Cost is $79.
The class will help students learn about the various electronic publishing media available and how to navigate those options. Participants will learn about Smash words, Amazon-Kindle, Nook-Pub-It, Scribd, and several other viable e-book options.
This course introduces eBay & PayPal to those with some or no eBay experience. The class is designed to provide the student with knowledge of how to open, monitor and maintain eBay and PayPal accounts, become an eBay seller, and much more. This course will provide the building blocks for the “at home” entrepreneur, but does require basic computer skills. Upon completion of this class, you will be able to build a successful listing and complete your sale with ease. This class covers eBay Motors, eBay Classifieds and standard eBay.
eBay: Startup will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, February 7 through 16, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Beaufort Campus and again on Saturdays, March 10 and 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the New River Campus. Cost is $79.
This course introduces eBay store to eBay sellers. It is designed to provide the student with the knowledge of how to open, monitor and maintain an eBay store. This course will help you decide which store is right for you, teach you how to build your store, optimize your eBay store for search capabilities and much more. If you have had some success on eBay and want to grow your business, this class is for you!
eBay Store will be offered Tuesday and Thursday, March 13 and 15 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Beaufort Campus and again on Saturday, March 31 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the New River Campus. Cost is $45.
