Program Description


TCL’s Architectural Design Technician II Certificate program provides students with the advanced skills of designing and drawing 3-D residential and light commercial buildings. Students also create and develop a portfolio with projects from architectural, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, other residential and light commercial design components.

The 17-credit-hour certificate program can be completed in as little as two semesters. Courses include building systems, residential design, history of architecture, and intermediate and advanced architectural computer graphics. Students get hands-on experience in the latest computer-aided design (CAD) software applications in TCL’s computer labs.

The S.C. annual mean wage for architectural drafter is $47,950, according to 2015 reports from U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics.

What does this program cost?*

Tuition: 17 credits x $170 per credit = $2,890.

Remember, this is before S.C. Lottery Tuition Assistance and other financial aid, which could drop your costs by more than half. In fact, after financial aid, many TCL students attend for free.
