TCL’s Aviation Structural Mechanic Certificate program will help you land an impressive career in aerospace.

Program Description


TCL’s Aviation Structural Mechanic Certificate is a 17-credit-hour program that is designed for individuals who want to work in aerospace manufacturing but who do not qualify for an FAA Mechanic’s License.

The program can be completed in as little as two semesters and includes online, classroom and hands-on practical application instruction in TCL’s aviation lab at the Beaufort Campus. The program covers aircraft blueprints, applied mathematics, aerodynamics, aircraft structures / materials / sealants, sheet metal fabrication, composites and other topics relevant to modern aerospace manufacturing.

There are endless aerospace employment opportunities nationally and locally. In fact, major aviation giants – including Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Gulfstream – are located right in our own backyard. Are you ready to see your future soar?

What does this program cost?*

Tuition: 17 credits x $170 per credit = $2,890.

Remember, this is before S.C. Lottery Tuition Assistance and other financial aid, which could drop your costs by more than half. In fact, after financial aid, many TCL students attend for free.

*Based on Fall 2016 in-state, in-service-area tuition. Your actual cost may differ. Qualifications vary.
