As a civil design technician, your skills in surveying and civil design will always be in demand.

Program Description


TCL’s Basic Civil Design Technician certificate program prepares students to work in land surveying and civil applications. Students learn the basics of map topography, plat preparation and civil project designing. In addition, students get hands-on experience in operating surveying equipment, and they complete drawing projects using concepts related to linear and angular measurements, map projections, data capture and land development.

The 12-credit-hour certificate program can be completed in as little as one semester. Courses include engineering surveying, basic civil drafting and advanced computer-aided design (CAD) and applications.

What does this program cost?*

Tuition: 12 credits x $170 per credit = $2,040.

Remember, this is before S.C. Lottery Tuition Assistance and other financial aid, which could drop your costs by more than half. In fact, after financial aid, many TCL students attend for free.
