Foundations, Framing and Renovations: Certificate | Technical College of the LowCountry

Foundations, Framing and Renovations: Certificate

Give your career a firm foundation.

Add the skills you need for a rewarding career in new and renovated construction.

Program Description

Technical College of the Lowcountry’s Foundations, Framing and Renovations Certificate program explores foundations and framing techniques used in residential construction. In addition, students learn more about the specific techniques used in renovating and remodeling existing residential structures.

Emphasis is placed on “green” building techniques outlined by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) principles, which gives you the skills you need for today and tomorrow.

And, here in the rapidly growing Lowcountry, construction jobs are always in demand. The S.C. annual mean wage for construction occupations is $38,370, according to 2015 reports from U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics.

TCL’s 9-credit-hour certificate program can be completed in as little as one semester, or choose to take a course as it fits into your already busy schedule. Evening classes are offered. Hands-on learning is emphasized, and classes include framing, roofing, interior and exterior installations, and site layout.

It’s time to put your career on firm footing.
