On Thursday, Dr. Tim Hardee, President of the S.C. Technical College System, biked his way to TCL Hampton, marking his 10th stop along his 800-mile journey across the state. His mission? To increase awareness of the state’s technical college system and to raise scholarships for students. TCL students, faculty, staff and officials welcomed Dr. Hardee and his wife, Tammy, as they entered the H. Mungin Center in Varnville. Dr. Hardee presented TCL with a check for $5,250 for TCL student scholarships. Hampton’s own Le Creuset is a Stakeholder Sponsor for Tour de Tech. In addition, Charles A. Lafitte, Jr. announced the creation of The Palmetto State Bank Hampton County Scholarship, which will benefit Hampton county students who attend TCL.
