We’re here for you: now and later.
As a high school student, you’re probably thinking about smart choices now and after graduation. As you probably know (or have been told), higher education is the answer to your continued success. The Technical College of the Lowcountry is your partner during high school and after.
While in high school:
Qualified high school students in Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper counties may receive college credit for high school classes through participation in the Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL) program known as Dual Enrollment. This program provides classes to high school students in the four counties served by TCL whether attending a public, private, or home education school.
After high school:
Not sure what’s next? Still trying to figure out how to pay for college? Wondering if going away to college is really the right fit? TCL is the solution, for so many reasons:
- Easy on the wallet. TCL is the perfect place to pursue college at a fraction of the cost. With S.C. Lottery Tuition Assistance, full-time tuition is around $1500 a semester. (The average tuition and fees at USC and Clemson run around $6,300 a semester and are nearly $5,000 a semester at USCB.) In addition, many students qualify for other financial aid and scholarship assistance. In fact, many attend TCL for free. Learn more about tuition and fees here.
- Easy to transfer. TCL’s two-year Associate of Arts and Science degrees are transferable in full to many four-year institutions in and out of the state – including Clemson, University of South Carolina and South Carolina State University. TCL also offers more than 80 courses that will transfer to other institutions. Learn more here: https://www.tcl.edu/transfer-info.
- Career confidence. Our 60+ accredited programs of study provide hands-on education for high-skilled, in-demand jobs of today and tomorrow. In fact, 95 percent of our graduates go on to work in their field of study or continue their education. See a list of all of our programs here.
- Students matter here. Students are more than just another number at TCL: their success is why we do what we do. Small classes and dedicated faculty ensure all students get the personal attention they deserve.
