Start a rewarding career as an Emergency Medical Technician with just six months of training. EMTs, also known as First Responders, work in a variety of settings, including county emergency services departments, private ambulance and transport companies, and hospitals. EMT’s administer basic life support care, such as CPR, bleeding control, splinting, and transport of sick or injured individuals.

208 Hours: Students receive training through classroom lecture and simulated hands-on experience.

PREREQUISITES

  • Student must have a high school diploma, GED, or other higher education degree.
  • Student must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Student must pass the Multi-State Criminal Background check.
  • Student must have a valid State ID.
  • Student must show proof of American Heart Association CPR/BLS certification.
  • Student must have a Quantiferon TB Blood Test.
  • Student must show proof of the following immunizations:
    • Current Flu vaccination
    • Covid vaccination/s
    • MMR 2-shot series or Blood Titer Level
    • Varicella 2-shot series or Blood Titer Level
    • Current TDaP
    • Blood Titer Level for Hepatitis B
  • Student must be physically able to perform all the tasks required of an EMT.

TUITION COST: $2200

OTHER COST

The student is responsible for required background check fee, blood test fees and vaccination fees.

ATTENDANCE

Students are expected to arrive on time and participate in course discussions and activities. Successful completion of the course of study recommends 100% attendance. If during the course period the student’s attendance level drops below 80%, they will be encouraged and given the opportunity to attend the next scheduled class for the course they enrolled in. Should materials change, student is responsible for all additional cost.

STUDENT CONDUCT

All students are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly and professional manner. Any student not conducting themselves in an orderly and professional manner may be dismissed from classes and will not be able to complete the course. Disorderly and unprofessional behaviors include but are not limited to use of drugs and alcohol during school hours, dishonesty, disrupting classes, use of profanity, excessive tardiness, insubordination, violation of safety rules, improper usage of course materials, equipment or facilities, or not abiding by the school rules.
