President of the Student Leadership Council
President Duties
The President:
- Serves as the primary representative for the Student Leadership Council and other students with leadership and governance.
- Presides over meetings.
- Ensures regular communication with the SLC Faculty/Staff Advisor.
- Is responsible for conduct and standards associated with the SLC.
- Leads SLC participation in one community service project and one major event each year.
- Must be present at meetings and any additional SLC-sponsored activities.
- Votes only in the case of a tie.
Vice President of the Student Leadership Council
Vice President Duties
The Vice President:
- Presides in the absence of the President and assumes all presidential duties.
- Works closely with the President to oversee SLC-led events and activities.
- Is instrumental in promoting co-curricular events and activities to students.
- Serves as the secondary representative for the SLC and other students with leadership and governance.
Communications Officer of the Student Leadership Council
Communications Officer Duties
The Communications Officer:
- Communicates meeting times and events to all members.
- Is responsible for maintaining communication between officers.
- Works with marketing on social media requests.
- Records the minutes of all meetings.
- Keeps a repository of the organization’s records within a college-operated system, such as Microsoft Teams.
- Maintains a current roster of active membership and voting representatives.
- In conjunction with the Advisor, maintains budgetary records of the SLC.
Senators of the Student Leadership Council
SLC Senators
Each recognized student organization and dual enrollment program may send up to two representatives to the SLC to serve as voting members. These representatives will be referred to as Senators. Senators must attend SLC meetings to be eligible to vote.
