The Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL) Student Leadership Council (SLC) serves as a mechanism for students to participate in governance, shares the student perspective with college leadership, promotes collaboration and information-sharing between student clubs and organizations, contributes to co-curricular programming and provides students the opportunity to develop and practice leadership skills. All students at TCL are members of the SLC.

SLC Governance
While considered members of the Student Leadership Council, Students in Dual Enrollment Programs are not eligible to run for office but can serve as Senators.
Service will last one academic year and students running for office must meet the following qualifications:
- The individual is currently in good academic standing with the College, and must maintain a GPA of 2.5
- Must not be involved in any disciplinary action against or involving Technical College of the Lowcountry.
- Must be enrolled at least part-time in a degree, certificate, or diploma program.
- Must be willing to serve as a role model for all TCL students on all TCL campuses.
