Your well being is important
Counseling & Mental Health Services
Sometimes students face challenges that can negatively impact their lives or educational success. Whether it’s managing stress or anxiety, overcoming substance abuse, managing time or overcoming procrastination, the TCL Wellness Center can help.

Here we strive to provide you with the tools and resources you need to overcome these challenges by offering free and personal wellness counseling.
Issues may range from the personal to school related and can take many forms such as:
- Personal Issues: anxiety, depression, substance misuse or abuse, grief, family or living issues, crisis, panic attacks, illness or injury, sexual assault and more.
- School-Related Issues: test anxiety, academic worries, public speaking anxiety, graduation fears, difficulties with faculty, staff or other students.
TCL’s Wellness Center can also help you with referral assistance to community resources for emergent and non-emergent services. These services may be able to assist you with finances, housing, food shortages and long-term mental health issues.
A Word About Privacy
All information is strictly confidential between you and the counselor. As a wellness provider, the Wellness Center makes, maintains and utilizes treatment records for treatment purposes. Records are housed separately from a student’s academic files. You may sign a waiver to release those records.
Please note that South Carolina law requires health providers to report child or elder abuse and intent to harm such as if a student says they want to harm themselves or harm someone else. This is designed to keep everyone safe.
