Paying for TCL

Important Announcement Regarding Fall Payment and Financial Aid

We know that many of you are being impacted by delays in your federal financial aid and loan requests. Delayed communication regarding documentation is also causing issues. Please check your Self-Service account to see if documentation is still needed and please submit ASAP to the Financial Aid Office. Because of these delays, TCL will de-register only those who have not completed a FAFSA and have a balance of $1,000 or more.

If you know that you will need to pay your balance, please do so (or sign up for a payment plan) by 11:30 a.m., Friday, August 17. If you registered and do not plan to attend TCL this fall, please drop yourself from classes through your Self-Service account no later than Saturday, August 18.

Keep in mind that any remaining balance after your financial aid has been applied is still your responsibility. Questions? Call 843-525-8207.

TCL offers higher education at a low price. Financial aid and scholarship packages make it more affordable (or even free).

Financial Aid
Financial aid helps students and their families pay for college and can cover various educational expenses such as tuition and fees, books and supplies, and transportation. The first step is to complete the federal government’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at TCL’s school code is 009910. Here’s a BIG tip, start the financial aid process early because it takes time to complete! Remember, Financial Aid qualifications vary.

TCL Scholarships
All eligible TCL students with unmet financial need are automatically considered for a variety of TCL scholarships. No additional application or materials are required!

S.C. Lottery Tuition Assistance
LTA can pay for more than half of TCL’s tuition for South Carolina residents. LTA is available for eligible full-time and part-time students. The maximum award, based on the Spring 2018 semester is $1,140 per semester for eligible full-time students and $95 per credit hour for eligible part-time students. The main criterion is that you are a resident of South Carolina — award is not based on need or income. LTA brings full-time tuition and fees per 12-hour semester to $1,118!*
