Program Description

Applications for the Medical Office Assistant program will continue to be taken until April 28, 2017 at 11 am.

Orientation will be held in Bldg 12 auditorium on May 18, 2017 from 9am-12pm. Program specific orientation will continue after.

The health care industry is growing at an unprecedented rate. Trained medical office administrators are needed to help manage this booming industry.

Technical College of the Lowcountry’s Medical Office Assistant program gives graduates the general medical and administrative skills needed for a job in health care administrative support.  The Medical Office Assistant Certificate program prepares students for the new and rapidly changing technology in today’s modern medical office.

Students can upgrade their skills in keyboarding, communication, receptionist tasks, billing procedures, office automation, basic bookkeeping, medical law and ethics, medical terminology, medical transcription and word processing.

What does this program cost?*

You can complete this 28-credit-hour certificate program in as little as two full-time semesters.

28 credits x $170 per credit = $4,760. Remember, this is before S.C. Lottery Tuition Assistance and other financial aid, which could drop your costs by more than half. In fact, after financial aid, many TCL students attend for free.
*Based on Fall 2016 in-state, in-service-area tuition. Your actual cost may differ. Qualifications vary.
